Hello and welcome.

With a lifelong passion for physical and mental wellness, and after 20 years practising classical yoga and writing health and wellness content for national press, I created Yanar Mind & Movement so that people can find more ways to move well and feel better, no matter where they are in life.

Whether you’re managing busy and stressful demands or dealing with symptoms from a health condition, there are yogic practices to support you – from mindful movement and simple breathwork to yogic meditations and philosophy.

MY SPECIALIST AREAS

I specialise in classical yoga that is naturally somatic. This style of yoga prioritises breath and body awareness with conscious movement to release tension and support nervous system regulation.

I work with Parkinson’s UK charity delivering chair yoga classes in east London and I offer online chair yoga classes to make movement more accessible.

I’m a 580-hour accredited yoga therapist from The Minded Institute, a 200-hour certified yoga teacher accredited by Yoga Alliance, and a level 3 personal trainer accredited by Focus Awards.

CHOOSE A SESSION RIGHT FOR YOU

  • Yoga therapy – one-to-one sessions to work on a tailored plan to help you live holistically with more balance and ease using the tools of yoga such as movement, breathwork and meditation. Ideal if you’re managing high stress, anxiety or insomnia or symptoms from a physical or mental condition and would like personalised support.

  • Chair yoga – online and in-person group classes ideal if for anyone more comfortable moving from a chair.

  • Yoga nidra – meaning ‘yoga of sleep’ in Sanskrit, this is a deeply restorative guided practice to release physical and mental tension for deeper relaxation and nervous system regulation.

  • Personalised fitness – for building functional strength, fitness and body confidence.

It brings me much joy to offer these therapeutic sessions and classes. I’ve experienced firsthand the therapeutic benefits of yoga on the body and mind and how it’s more than just a good stretch.

They will support you to find more ease, balance and physical and mental strength in your daily life.

  • "Yanar is a skilled and supportive coach with a comprehensive and balanced approach to training. She was genuinely invested in my growth and progression and was a cheerleader and confidence-builder. Yanar provided me with solid foundations of good form and most importantly a real love for lifting that is still going strong!"

    — Kat, Fitness Programming and Remote Coaching

  • "I really enjoyed the yoga nidra and again, slept so well! I feel calmer and more grounded since joining the class. I've been operating on quite a bit of stress lately but this is really helping, thank you."

    — Rachael, Online Relaxation Yoga class

  • "Yanar's classes are very calming, and I love her focus on each attendee feeling better and calmer in themselves rather than pushing people to hit certain moves before they're ready or making comments about getting a particular body shape. She truly cares about the wellbeing of the people in her classes."

    — Izzy, Online Relaxation Yoga class
